Surface plasmon resonance spectrometer

date:2018/4/18 17:08:32type:KNOWLEDGE

The equipment was developed by Dr. Wolfgang Knoll, director of the Center of Polymer Research Institute, Maple Institute, Germany. Using surface plasmon resonance (SPR), it can monitor the interaction of biological molecules in real time without labeling. It is suitable for the research field of advanced nano-biotechnology.
[Scope of application]
Direct determination of DNA/RNA, protein (antibody/antigen), sugar and cell-to-cell interactions
Analysis of Adsorption Velocity, Determination of Binding Quantity and Binding Constant
[specialty]
_Label-free, no need for complex fluorescent labeling
Real-time quantitative analysis of adsorption process
Flexible and extensible design. Various components (electrochemical source, CCD camera, temperature control device, etc.) can be added according to research needs.
_Use LabView Software
Surface plasmon resonance technology: optical principle
Total reflection occurs when polarized light is incident on the surface of a metal film with a thickness of 50 nm through a prism. Under certain conditions, free electrons on the surface of a metal film absorb incident photons and convert them into surface plasmon waves, which is called surface plasmon resonance (SPR).
This phenomenon is very sensitive to the change of reflectivity of media materials. For example, the adsorption of molecules on metal surface (in the distance of evanescent wave) shows such a change, which can be used to observe the adsorption and movement of molecules on metal surface with high sensitivity.
Angular scanning mode
The system scans the incident angle and displays the reflection intensity by theta-2theta angle meter. The angular scanning mode allows the user to determine the number of molecules absorbed.
Range of measurement: incidence angle 10 ~90.
Optical film thickness resolution: less than 0.1 nanometer

DYNAMIC MODEL
The system uses fixed angle incident light to measure the time variation of reflected light intensity. The dynamic model allows users to monitor the molecular adsorption/desorption process in real time.
